Agriculture: Fruits, Vegetables, Cereals

Several of my websites are about agricultural crops: fruits, vegetables and cereals. Initially I just kept a database where I collected information on tropical fruits. Later I turned it into a website, adding photos, recipes, proverbs, etc. Gradually more fruits from temperate climates were added, and now the database also includes vegetables and cereals. It's a real work in progress.

Fruits for beginners

If you are interested in fruits, the best place to start is Fruits for beginners where all the fruits (tropical and temperate) are listed in alphabetical order. Another place to start is with the list of fruit names, which includes many fruit names in English, French, Spanish, Dutch, German and Italian.

Tropical fruits

Interested in tropical fruits? Here is a collection of web pages about many different tropical fruits. It's like a tropical garden where you can sample the most exotic fruits in the world. Perhaps you will find fruits that you never saw before.

Other fruits

After I had compiled a large collection of tropical fruits, my collection began to include also temperate and other fruits, for which I started a separate site. It's a bit confusing sometimes because the difference between tropical and temperate is not always easy to make.

Fruits proverbs and quotes

While collecting information about fruits I also collect proverbs and quotes about fruits. On this site they are sorted in alphabetical order.

Vegetables and Cereals

Following the pages on fruits I am now working on other agricultural crops including vegetables and cereals. For the moment I have only few vegetables, so please come back soon for more...

Global Crops Database

Try the Global Crops Database. This is a database where you can search names of many agricultural crops. It's not ready yet, but any comments are welcome. Currently the database has over 5,800 names of 515 agricultural crops in 6 different languages.
